My blog posting is dedicated to the memory of my dear brother who cared about and was generous with all energies. Peace to you, my 6’4,” 230 lb Lil’ Brother.  He was especially fond of this ancient oak tree on his Texas property.

Old Oak Tree

I am Old Oak, gently rocking your soul, remembering.

I am here for you.

Added growth rings witness games, stronger muscles, and primal sounds.

I am your guardian.

You mapped my bark and leaves and felt awe.

I feed your curiosity with textures and shades of beauty.

A confidant, I hear your experiences without judgment or advice.

We are connected.

Time plants a bench, and the dogs come and rest with you.

I am your beloved oak.

A bit of creaking and groaning in the sunset years.

Ahhh, I feel your pain.

Mostly inside now, you glimpse visions of brilliant light.

Camaraderie is comfortable.

I am Old Oak, gently rocking your soul, remembering.
